By Car — The Easiest Option
From Lahore, head south-west out of the city and join the road towards Pattoki (on the N-5, the National Highway towards Multan). From Pattoki, the forest park is roughly 10 km further — follow the signs for Changa Manga, or simply let your maps app guide you. Roads are generally in reasonable condition, and the final approach runs through farmland and nursery belts that are rather scenic in their own right.
Weekday mornings are the calmest; weekend midday traffic around the park entrance can build up in the popular season. Parking is available at or near the park area — confirm the current parking arrangement and charges on arrival.
By Public Transport
Frequent buses, coasters and vans run from Lahore towards Multan, Sahiwal or Chunian and stop at Pattoki along the N-5. From the Pattoki bus stop, the remaining ~10 km is a quick rickshaw, taxi or shared ride. Ask for “Changa Manga forest park” — locals know it well. This is the budget option, and perfectly practical for a day trip if you don't mind changing vehicles.
By Train
A mainline railway station named Changa Manga serves the area, which is fitting — the forest exists precisely because the railways needed timber. Train services and schedules on the Lahore–Khanewal line change over time, so check the current Pakistan Railways timetable before planning a rail-based trip, and confirm how far the station is from the park entrance (a short local ride may be needed).
Coming From Further Away?
From Multan or Sahiwal, the N-5 north towards Lahore drops you at Pattoki. From Kasur city, the journey runs roughly 50 km through Chunian tehsil. From Faisalabad, the simplest route is usually via the motorway towards Lahore and then south on the N-5. In every case, Pattoki is your last useful stop for cash, snacks and fuel — the forest itself is deliberately short on commercial clutter.
